This download + print unit study was created to raise awareness about the safety and conflicts involved with living, hiking, biking, and camping around bears. A portion of the sales from both this set and the stacking bears set will be donated to the Get Bear Smart Society in Whistler, British Columbia as well as the Spirit Bear Research Foundation in the Great Bear Rainforest, British Columbia.
In this study you'll discover the difference between black bears and spirit bears, their life cycles and habitats, as well as their vital importance to the temperate forest ecosystem. Like everything else we make, this study is open-ended and can be adapted to many activities for many age and skill groups.
All of the artwork was done by a mom and her 12-year-old daughter. Supporting this study not only supports the future of black and spirit bears, but it also supports a young girl's dream of being a full time artist one day.
