Large Sensory Tray

Who would have thought that scooping and dumping dry rice would lead to neurological development? Sensory play is gaining popularity as kids of all ages discover the delight of playing with different textures, and this tray sets the stage for all the fun.

While kids are pouring, scooping, squishing, dumping, sniffing, transporting, pushing, or tapping they are having fun in a way no other activity offers. Plus it also ticks the boxes for:

• developing gross motor skills (hand-eye coordination and bilateral coordination through crossing the midline)
• developing language skills (big, small, in, out, more, less, full, empty)
• developing early math skills like volume
• developing early science skills like inquiry, investigation, and observation
• developing cognitive skills like "if...then..." and the awareness of different properties of a variety of objects
• developing social emotional skills through the round shape of the tray that offers multiple children equal access and the opportunity to communicate with one another

Materials: maple and walnut OR all maple (The walnut lines are great for sand/salt line tracing or driving cars along)

The tray is finished with vegan wax and oil that is certified safe for use on toys and cutting boards so you could always use this to serve crackers if you wanted to.

NOTE: Some items with deep colouring may stain. Always test a small area first.

Cleaning: wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals, or immerse in liquid.

This item is hand crafted. Because it isn't made in a factory overseas, turnaround time is roughly 2 weeks, sometimes more during busy holiday seasons. Thank you for supporting small shops!
