3 Part Tray

The world can be an overwhelming place when you're a kid, so organizing information is one of the greatest gifts we can give to children to help them navigate their experiences. The 3 Part Tray is an ideal way to compartmentalize and show the connections between number or letter shapes, their different representations, and their formations. It can be used for letter or number work in the Montessori learning environment.

This tray can be used in a multitude of ways, at different stages of learning. Small toddlers can use it to sort and organize their animals, coloured toys, or nature walk finds.

Preschoolers can use it to begin recognizing and practicing letter or number formations by using the large compartment as a salt or sand writing tray. They can also continue with pre-math work by sorting loose parts, or by grouping animals (animals that live in the air, animals that live in the water, animals that live on land).

Kindergarteners can do more complex sorting (breaking down a colour, like red, into different shades) or as a See It, Say It, Spell It tray.

It can also be used as a small parts storage tray.

You could even use it to present snacks!

THE DETAILS

The 3 Part Tray is made of one piece of locally sourced pure Canadian maple. We are proud that all of our off cuts (aka leftover pieces of wood) go to heating local homes in our area.

The tray measures 10" by 10" and is finished with a non-toxic vegan wax and linseed oil blend that is certified safe for use on toys and cutting boards. It is also saliva resistant.

Please note that the tray does not come with any of the items pictured.

Because wood is a natural material with different grains, your tray will most likely look different from the ones pictured. We do our best to make each tray similar but the beauty of nature is that it is wonderfully unique.

CLEANING

We recommend using only dry sensory materials with the tray. The finish is resistant to mild liquid, but is not meant for intense dunking. Spot clean with a damp cloth and let air dry. Markers and crayons are not recommended. If you put snacks on the tray please note that some berries like blackberries, strawberries, or raspberries can stain the wood.

A note about wooden toys: Wood is a natural material and as such, has various unique markings. Variations in wood grain, color, knots, or texture are all natural occurrences in these hand-crafted wooden products. These unique variations and markings are proof of quality, not defects. Enjoy the markings that make your toy unique!

Europe, Australia and around the world: Basic shipping is untracked surface and CAN TAKE UP TO 10 WEEKS (which is why it is so affordable). If you would like to receive your package sooner please select AIR when you check out. If you would like tracking on your package please choose that option. Regardless of the method you choose, PLEASE include your phone number in a note when you make your purchase; our customs form requires it and not including it may delay shipping to you.
